Nullpointer if we want to split the value of a non existing attribute

      If you try to get the list of camunda candidate users if the attribute is not set than there is a null pointer exception. We should check for null and return an empty list instead. Or we could extract the behavior to a new attribute type cause it is used in different places like also in candidate groups.
