In October, we will release Optimize 3.11. We expect that this version will instead be marked as Optimize 8.3.0, to align with other C8 products. With this in mind, it makes sense for us to already mark the forthcoming alpha releases as 8.3.0-alphax. Given that this is just for C8 customers, we can probably do this by adding an additional tag to the docker image before we push it to the remote repositories.
ATs:
- 3.11 alpha Optimize docker images are tagged with the corresponding 8.3 alpha release
- Optimize docker images can be pulled and run when using the 8.3.0-alphax tag
- SaaS Generations can be created and used when the image is declared with the new tag
- This change is communicated to other relevant stakeholders (Distribution team, Documentation team, SRE team). There might be some resultant follow-up action items that come from this (https://camunda.slack.com/archives/C03NFMH4KC6/p1684161965059489)
- The release process is updated to reflect this new change. The new tag could be parameterised and done automatically (https://confluence.camunda.com/display/CO/Trigger+the+Final+Release+release+build and https://confluence.camunda.com/display/CO/Trigger+the+Release+candidate+release+build)
