A similar issue occurred in the TravisCI jobs for the camunda-bpm-assert project, but was fixed with CAM-9800.

I switched the travis config from OracleJDK to OpenJDK and the builds runs again, however it currently fails for other reasons in the tests.

I couldn't get to the root of the problem, but it looks like something in the Travis build environment changed that would lead to this problem (e.g. https://travis-ci.community/t/error-installing-oraclejdk8-expected-feature-release-number-in-range-of-9-to-14-but-got-8/3766/2).
