getVariable() and setVariable() are among the most frequenly used methods in camunda (in DelegateExecution or its ancestors). Yet these methods are not documented at all! I wanted to consult the docs for the semantics of them, but to no avail.

Please describe them. I had to look into the activiti docs (which is a shame for such a wonderful project as camunda).
