Switching between versions, current page not persisting

      Environment (Required on creation):

      macOS Big Sure 11.2.3

      Chrome 89.0.4389.90

      Description (Required on creation; please attach any relevant screenshots, stacktraces, log files, etc. to the ticket):

      Steps to reproduce (Required on creation):

      Navigate to any page in an older version of the documentation, then select latest.

      Also, navigate to any page in an older version of the documentation, select a header with an anchor tag, then select latest. 

      Observed Behavior (Required on creation):

      Current page does not persist and you are taken to the main Camunda Platform Manual page, losing your place in the documentation. If you selected a header with an anchor tag, the anchor tag persists but because the URL is incorrect you just have a rogue anchor tag that's completely irrelevant.

      Expected behavior (Required on creation):

      Page should only redirect to main page if content didn't exist for selected version. Otherwise, it should navigate to the version content for that page.

            Hi amara.graham,

            thanks for creating the ticket. That has been a well-known issue with our docs for a while already and I will move this forward to decision-making to see if we can tackle this with more priority in the future.

            Hey Amara,

            I tried to fix this as a 30-minute-hack-day project, let's see if it stands the test of a reviewer in my team who actually knows how Javascript works. If all goes well, I hope we can merge and roll this out in the docs in the coming weeks. If it turns out to be a bigger thing, I'll submit it for planning for a coming quarter.
