As you may have recognized (see SUPPORT-11390), we would like to adapt our roadmap for our next release to yours. It would be very interesting to have Wildfly 24. Please keep me up to date. THANKS.

How should I interpret the label potential_for_7.16 next to potential_for_7.17. Is Wildfly 24 still an option for 7.16 which will be released on 12.10.21?

            Hi Marc,

Support for Wildfly 24 will not be part of 7.16.0. We keep the labels to be able to understand for how many releases we have already considered a ticket.

            Cheers,
            Thorben

Hi markus.falk@1und1.de, we plan to have Wildfly 26 with 7.17. It is not committed yet, as we have some uncertainties with topics we are legally obligated to do. We will try to commit ASAP.

            Regards Tobias

@Tobias Conz, do you still plan to add WildFly 26 support in Camunda? I've seen that https://downloads.camunda.cloud/release/camunda-bpm/wildfly/7.17/camunda-bpm-wildfly-7.17.0-alpha4.zip is based on WildFly 23.

I am also interested in this topic that camunda updates its Wildfly application support for Wildfly within 7.17. The following aspects has to be considered.

            • Wildfly 23 is not Java 17 ready, but you announced Java 17 for 7.17! So I see no other option for you to upgrade to 26.0.
            • Wildfly 26.1 will be released on March as next feature release instead of Wildfly 27 (see announcement details  https://www.wildfly.org/news/2022/01/21/WildFly-2022/) . So it would be interested if you are going to support 26.0 or 26.1 feature release of Wildfly?

            Thx and best regards...Marc

            Hello marc.thomas@t-systems.com,

Thanks for bringing this up. We will proceed to support Java 8 and thinking of keeping Java 15 supported to run e.g. Wildfly 23.

We try to make Wildfly 26 happen on 7.17, but we can't commit it yet due to other priority topics.

            Thanks for your understanding

            Tobias

Dear Tobias, maybe you can provide me a time point, when the feature freeze for 7.17 is done, when we will know whether Wildfly 26 is supported? It would help us a lot to plan our release, see https://jira.camunda.com/browse/SUPPORT-11390?focusedCommentId=200240&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-200240

            Hi Marc Thomas,

We are challenged by the new approach of many environments to release in a more agile approach (More often, partly not with a fixed cadence, ...) and started working on a concept to better tackle this in the future.

The features that for 7.17 are already committed. We are also working on getting more agile; therefore, we do have an optional list for 7.17 with Wildfly in the top ranks. If 7.17 will not work out, we consider delivering it with one of the early 7.17 patches.

Excuse the inconvenience it may cause for your team.

            Regards Tobias
