7.8 release job fails due to unsupported git protocol in npm files

      Problem

      The test release job [1] fails with the following error message:

      02:48:20     [exec] npm ERR! fatal: remote error: 
02:48:20     [exec] npm ERR!   The unauthenticated git protocol on port 9418 is no longer supported.
02:48:20     [exec] npm ERR! Please see https://github.blog/2021-09-01-improving-git-protocol-security-github/ for more information.

      Acceptance Criteria (Required on creation):

      Replace the git with the https protocol in npm files.
