      Hi guys,

In our usage it would be useful to see the business key associated with the task in the tasklist. Hence if a user is working on a particular process instance - eg customer order with a business key reference, they can go into tasklist and select the task relevant to the reference. I assume that the new filters would help support this, but just a suggestion that displaying business key in the task list view could be a useful feature - hence I can select the task directly rather than having to refine my filter.

            Hi Rob,

interesting feature request. To understand better, the following questions come to my mind.

            • Do you want to see the business key in the list of tasks (middle)
            • Do you want to see the business key in the task details (right)
            • Both?
            • Would it match with your idea, if the display of the business key was configurable in the filter comparable to the process variables?

            Cheers
            Robert

            Hi Robert,

My intent would be that the business key is visible in the list of tasks in the middle. Our rationale is, task list works well if the operating model is I just grab the next task off the list and perform the task. In our process models, we could have someone receive say a signed contract in the mail and thus they need to find the task based on reference number or business key. They could use the filter mechanism to find the relevant instance, however if the business key was displayed, and there was typically not more that a screen of tasks, the user could just visually find the task based on the business key being visible. This could be faster than configuring a filter for each business key.

Im not that familiar with the variable filter mechanism, hence if the above is clear you may be able to advise.

I wanted to raise this use case to try and get the mechanism or similar in the 7.2 release.

            regards

            Rob

            Hi Rob,

explanation on the filter: in the filter definition you can define process variables which should be displayed in the list of tasks, I would use the same mechanism for the business key.

Still 7.2 is an ambitious thing. We are 16 working days before the release and therefore very restrictive, when it comes to new feature requests.

I scheduled it for 7.3 for now but have it in mind if we have time left.

            Cheers

            Hi

With regard to "Robert Gimbel added a comment - 07/Nov/14 8:44 AM - edited" comment
Our requirement would be to please how the buisnessKey in both places ie:" business key in the list of tasks" and "business key in the task details"

and yes it could possibly work to "display of the business key was configurable in the filter comparable to the process variables?"

            Thanks
            Melissa
