Official support for CockroachDB

      User story

As a user, I want to use CockroachDB with Camunda so that I can use a resilient, scalable, and consistent database.

      Background

We want to provide official support for CockroachDB in 7.14. For this, we are starting a spike on June 29 with the goal to validate the technical feasibility of how we can support CockroachDB.

      What is it?

CockroachDB is a distributed SQL database built on a transactional and strongly-consistent key-value store. It scales horizontally; survives disk, machine, rack, and even datacenter failures with minimal latency disruption and no manual intervention; supports strongly-consistent ACID transactions; and provides a familiar SQL API for structuring, manipulating, and querying data.
